Unhappy

I'm having problems getting my serial cradle working on my Toshiba Laptop running NT. It doesn't recognize that a device is attached to the com1 port. I also brought it home and tried to get it working on my Windows 98 machine but failed there as well. I do have my USB cradle working at home. What am I doing wrong? Is it possible that the serial cradle is defective? Anyone else experiencing a similar problem?

Right-click the Hot Sync tray icon and make sure you have 'local serial' checked.

The local serial was checked. I also tried
to install it on a co-workers NT with the same results. Any other ideas?
