My velcro closure on my shocksuit stops sticking after about a month or two and I have needed to replace it once already. Are there any alternative fasteners I can attach to the rhinoskin cover? I've seen some magnetic buttons used on purses but I would be fearful that a magnet near the visor unit would be harmful.

I don't think a magnet will harm the visor. Vaja makes popular cases using them. Personal opinion, Rhinoskin's shocksuit sucks. The product quality is next to junk. I had one and the thing broke in less than a month.
