All things considered, you sound _too_ sure. What's your source? If Palm reps have been shown to mix it up, I'm not going to claim it's 100% definite unless I take one apart personally, which isn't likely.

OK, the jury is in, the answeres I was given:

1) yes, but the slider looks like metal (but it is plastic)
2) Masked

3) not directly, but maybe in the future.. no solid answer on this one..

1) Shares components with T|W and was designed for voice over IP. An additional stereo plug would not fit/be too expensive.
I told the 'Palm evengalist' Paul something, that a lot of people were very disapointed about it and he said he would take that feedback back to development.. we'll see.. after the meeting I spoke to another palm guy who said it probably does not get changed soon since the Tungsten series is more focused on voice and the voice part is mono only...

TBH I really didn't expect one, although I probably should have said OS 6 as well.

yeah, he avoided a couple of questions...
like he mentioned the Zire 71 is part of the Zire 7-series, which made me ask if there was a 5-series or something like it comming up... he neither confirmed nor denied it... so it wouldnt surprize me it there is a new series comming up....

This is really a nice device. I have one question, How did they manage to sell this for 299? Now I think the sony clie is overpriced even with the swivel. This is what I though the next generation prism would be. Palm has it this time. Handspring needs to take notes.
