CRACKED VISOR and USING THE BACKUP MODULE

Just cracked by display.

I have a backup module but have not backed up in 3 months...

I can still read the display...

I pop the module in, but the touch screen is broken and I can not click "backup now".

DOES ANYONE KNWO OF A SPECIAL KEY SEQUENCE THAT WILL FORCE A BACKUP, OR BACKUP UPON MODULE INSERTION?

If not.. This backup module is almost worthless...

email me at: [email protected] AND [email protected]

thanx..

There's no other way to invoke a backup that I'm aware of. As for the module being worthless, I'd say that's it's the Visor that's worthless at this point...

Something you can try that actually may help you... get a trial copy of BackupBuddy, install it, and do a hotsync. As long as the Visor responds and hotsyncs, BB should back up all your data to your hard drive (if that's what you're trying to accomplish).

Well yes.. But I mean that the Backup Module SHOULD have the ability to backup and restore WITHOUT the LCD touch screen! This seems like a MUST for the design...

Have they CHANGED that yet?

I'm on Linux...

But there are several tools that allow total backups... KPilot, JPilot, and ColdSync... I've backed up with all three now.. so I should have adequate insurance now..

Thanx anyway...
