I have recently purchased a visor to timeport data cable from cables4pdas. The cable works great, however when I try to check my email on my visor, I get a message that says, "Browser not capable" It tells me that I need to upgrade to internet explorer 4.x or higher. On my laptop, I have internet explorer 5.0. Does anyone know why I cannot check connect to yahoo or hotmail through this connection? I am using Sprint PCS as a carrier.

I can't speak for hotmail, but Yahoo's web-based e-mail relies heavily on frame-based navigation and Javascript.. two things that PalmOS browsers don't currently implement. They check your browser for compatability when you first connect, and if it isn't NS or IE, they give you the error message.

Not to worry, though - Yahoo! has an e-mail PQA, and the ThinAir e-mail PQA supports the hotmail protocol, so you're covered.

FYI, as of 2/27 the 'content development' proxy servers are offline, so PQA's won't work. This from the Palm developer's site:
