Is it just me, or do the Springboard connector pins appear a little less than robust? The pins on my unit are not all perfectly parallel or equal length. I fear that after a few dozen insertion/removals the pins may bend or break. Anyone with Springboard experience here ?

I've been using my back up module and my flash modules since I got my unit in November with no problems. I don't see how you could tell if yours had a problem without a module. The pins on my unit seem straight and even.

The springboard module's specs calls for 2 pins to be shorter; when you insert a module these pins being shorted to ground tells the device that the springboard is in.
As for the connector, it's the same connector as a PCMCIA card connector (physically, NOT electrically). And PCMCIA is good for a few thousand insertion cycles, at the very least.
