How can I get my GPS receiver with its NMEA 4800 serial output, that works fine with my PC, to work with my Prism and Quo Vadis mapping software? I am using a serial docking cradle, gender changer, and null modem adapter to connect my GPS serial output (9pin) to the docking cradle serial connector (9pin). I've tried soft reseting the Prism but it just sits there looking for the GPS data and never recognizing it.

I made my own cable initially, but you can buy one from ACCESSORIES link here on VC. Just scroll down to the CABLES/CRADLES section and look for "DataCord 9-pin Serial Modem Cable (M9)." That's what you need. I use Quo Vadis with both my eTrex Vista (sweet unit) and my Co-Pilot GPS'.

Data Cable for Visor <=> GPS
Another good source to check for Data Cables to connect your Visor to a GPS is:
There's a nice compatibility matrix under "Product Selector" to help select the best cable depending on your type of Visor and which GPS. Plus, it has a bunch of other information on the matrix as well!
