Renaming Applications?`

Hi!

I installed an application a while back called Abacus (just what the name implies--a calculator based on beads). All was well. I eventually moved it to my falsh RAM. Then, I got Abacus (a spreadsheet). It installed OK, but I can't copy it to my flash RAM module.

Is there any way to rename an application, such that I can install two apps that would otherwise have the same name?

I'm not sure about this (maybe one of our resident PalmOS guru's can help), but I don't think having 2 apps with the same name is a problem. My understanding is that the OS distinguishes apps based on the CreatorID's. Perhaps the Flash module itself (FileMover) doesn't allow the duplicate names.

In any event, I use a free app called AppViewer to rename apps on my VDx.

Another solution is RSRCedit. There's practically nothing about any app that you cant change with it.
