That's right. I imagine that the cost of the wireless hardware is pretty high. Add to that a hi res color screen and a thumb keyboard (all things Palm has never done before) and I imagine that the production cost gets pretty high. I imagine that if they added a ARM CPU the manufacturing cost would go through the roof. I also imagine that the Tungsten W has been in the works for a long time, and by the time they got OS5 running it would have delayed the unit even more to change to an ARM architecture. That's just my guess anyways.

upgrade... no time soon for me. but when I do upgrade... what will I do with my visor? Im not going to sell it, nor do I want to trash it. I guess it'll become "rare"... like the newton. In 10 years if you were to pull out an old visor, your geek factor would skyrocket! you'd get just as many comments from people as if you were to pull out a brand new palm (if they are still around in 10 years)

Think of it that way. Sure I was with you visor people at one point and when they discontinued the visor I was sad to but it is time to get rid of your your old slow visors and go with a palm, sony, or handera. Take a look at the link below at palms new piece of hardware and then tell me how it compares to your visors.

I just seen this and the Tungston T 2 Best Buy, I'am for once Impressed with palm!

But I like the Clie NX70 better!!!!

It sucks as a phone compared to my Treo.

Although I would like to have that screen....

Hello,

I've had two m515 Palms and got rid of them because they were a pain to use for email on the road. The modem was too big and blocked the interface, so you couldn't use your keyboard. My Visor Pro with the Thinmodem Plus inserted is the same size as the basic Visor, it works with the keyboard in place, and it works with my AT&T Global software! Try to do that on your Palm Ti.

Best,

Bill
