Cool I Hate Velcro!!!

I have a Visor and I have been looking and looking for a leather case that I can use as a wallet, but also capable to accomodate modules while in the wallet. I have found a couple that I like but don't really fit my needs. The other day my friend (who works at Franklin/Covey) gave me an old leather planner. It doesn't have a ring binder and is a smaller size but bigger than the Targus Visor Wallet that I bought two months ago. As I looked at the case I noticed quickly that my visor could fit nicely inside provided that I attached it with some industrial grade Velcro. I hate velcro. I hate the idea of a sticky, fuzzy strip on the backside of my valuable piece of hardware. I mean, this is the 21st Century fer cryin' out loud! Can't anyone do better than a hairy piece of tape?!?!

... but I digress. Here is my plan: using the Targus Wallet as a template, which uses an embroidered Snap Cover to hold the Visor in place, it occurred to me that I could take the Franklin Planner and the Snap Cover that came with my Visor down to the local leather repair people and have it sewn into the leather binder - giving me a leather binder that is velcro free! <Ahhh, the intoxicating smell of leather>

Tomorrow is the big day. I found a leather and shoe repair guy that can make the adjustment for me and I hope all goes well.

Wish me luck.

ooo! good idea. I want to know how this goes, I had a heck of a time trying to find a decent case that doesn't use Velcro. (and I'm still not done.)

I agree...

I hate the whole velcro idea as well. I like the slide in or straps cases. What I did - I had a DayTimer for years and didn't want to spend the money on case. Those Franklin Covery binder inserts for Palm are great but I cant find one for the Visor. So, I took out the paper and velcroed the slip case to the right inside cover of the DayTimed. Works great! I also some business card inserts and disk inserts in the binder - theres room. Although I cant use the visor in the case I can slide it out with the binder closers. It's a tight fit - hasnt slid out yet (11 months)..

Fro those who are stuck using velcro

I found nice way to get the Visor into a binder/case that requires using velcro...stick the velcro on the detachable cover that comes with the Visor instead of on the Visor itself. Adds a little width, but if you're putting the Visor in a bidner, you're probably not going to be using that cover for anything anyway.

Velcro...NOT!

Incipio makes some great cases for the Visor. Some of them are pretty girlie but you can remove the strap. Also they make some plain ones, too.
