Hey, how about a guitar tuner? Use the microphone built in, software analyzes pitch, with graphical display. Sounds simple to me.

Thumbs up

I've been thinking this would be a great module since Handspring first launched -- except why restrict it to being a guitar tuner? Let it be just a regular chromatic tuner, using the built-in microphone. What would be really slick would be to include a 1/4" input jack (and possibly an output jack as well) to tune electric guitars as well... (of course, adding these jacks would force the springboard to be larger than standard size, but that's a trade-off I'd make. You could add all kinds of cool features too... like programmable tuning sets - your instrument isn't in there? just add it manually. Want alternate tunings for your guitar pre-programmed? No sweat at all. This would be a module I'd DEFINITELY buy, though I suspect the size of the market niche is such that something like this won't be worth producing.
