I haven't used my Visor to study Japanese, mostly because my (mostly unsuccessful) attempt to learn the language was in college, some 12 years ago. Stick with Japanese - I enjoyed studying it, and I really enjoyed the couple of summers I spent over there as a student.
When I was in school I used to use a Sharp Wizard (purchased in Japan) to look up kanji characters, so I can see how the setup you are describing would be useful. Maybe if I'd had a Visor back then I'd actually remember something I learned.
I keep saying I'm going to pick up my language study again, even though I wouldn't be using it professionally. I don't suppose you could post some links to the programs you mention, or email me where you found them?
