I lost my Visor Deluxe almost 4 months ago, and I've been yearning for a new organizer. So I got my montly computer magazines, and they were all comparing PocketPC's to Palms, and they got me very interested in the debate. What would be better for the average student? I want something that has good organization, decent battery life, and some entertainment options. Expandability isn't really a factor for me.
Also, if I were to go with PocketPC, the Compaq iPaq 3650 looks good. Whats an average price for one of those?

Ok, you got the same monthly magazine with me then!
I think palm got more software than pocket PC and I like palm UI. so, if you can, try it both of them and try to find which one is easier for you to use.

Given your criteria, I'd say something running a flavor of Palm OS would be your best bet. Wince devices aren't as good at organization (WRT ease of data input and retrieval); if you get something with a rechargeable battery, you don't have to worry about battery life (and if you get something that requires batteries, there isn't much that beats Palm OS devices for battery life); and there are plenty of entertainment options (from AvantGo to PalmReader to the myriad of games available, etc.).

Hey I got a subscription to Maximum PC!!! Its awesome!!!
BTW I figured it out: When Palm means simplicity they mean old people that don't know how to operate Windows...
YOU ARE A KID!!! WE ARE GROWING UP WITH COMPTUERS!!! I myself use to be a WinCE advocate, and had a Palm IIIx. I just replaced it with a Compaq iPaq and its awesome!!!
I didn't have much money, so I bought a "LIKE NEW" for $400.

Yea, I was probably gonna get an iPaq too. Where is the cheapest place to find them, besides ebay?

Look for a used one if you want. Ebay is a rip off...
Go to www.pocketpcpassion.com and check out the forums, people are always selling stuff. pdabuzz.com has good forums too with classifieds.
