Is a wireless modem available with the Visor, and if not will there be one in the future?

I am pretty sure there is blue tooth technology available for the Visor. Blue tooth does not use a cell modem its pretty diffrent.

There will be a couple of wireless modems available. The vaunted 6pack module has one, there is also another modem-only board coming out.

There is a bluetooth board coming out but that tech has much different uses than a wireless modem does. Bluetooth is for communication over short (30ft I think) distances between 2 bluetooth capable devices. With bluetooth you can do things like auto-syncing your Visor as soon as you walk into the room, chat wirelessly with other Visors, things like that. Wireless modems let you check mail and surf the web, for example, from anywhere.

just so we're clear here...

The much-anticipated SixPack will include
a) flashing LED alarm indicator
b) Vibrating silent alarm
c) Voice-recording circuitry and a speaker
d) 8M ram
e) a landline modem, and (quoted from www.innogear.com/6.htm)
f) a CELLULAR CAPABLE MODEM: External expansion port allows a data connection with Cellular phones while on the road

So, it's not really a *wireless* modem. It needs a wire to connect to your appropriately-equipped cell phone.

Please excuse me if I'm restating something you already know. I (too?) was a little unclear on this "cellular modem" concept at first.

I think that in theory Bluetooth is supposed to be able to connect wirelessly to Bluetooth-enabled cell phones to allow wireless modem connections. It just depends on how soon other industries (such as cell phones) will pick up on the technology.
