Post Wear and tear on the Visor

I've had my VDx for somewhere between 2 years and 18 months and I'm now noticing that the contact points on it seem to be wearing out.

Just this last week, in order to get a solid connection for hotsync, I have to press the Visor into the cradle for the entire length of the sync. This is pretty ridiculous, and I'm starting to contemplate replacing my VDx with a Prism. Has anyone got any advice on the everyday wear and tear of the contacts points on the VDx? I do use my Stowaway 3-4 times a day(I'm a student) and it does get some wear that way, but otherwise I can't think of any reasons why the contacts should be wearing out.

Clean the contacts with a pencil eraser. It works miracles!

Thanks, that seems to have done the trick.
