Angry Prism

Upgraded from DLX ro Prism last week....WIfe still has DLX.... My POCKET QUICKEN 1.0 worked fine during syncs for both visors for a few syncs....then trouble:
PKT QUICKEN gave "UNKNOWN ERROR (FFFF)" during Sync.... even after changeing to "do Nothing in conduit...still error.
Wife's DLX works fine!

Then, I uninstalled QUicken and reinstalled MORE PROBLEMS....PC (WIN 98) FROZE! Did that everytime I sync the Prism during the last part of sync...(Pkt Quicken)... WIfe's DLX still ok!

Called Hadspring and Landware (PktQuicken) both blamed the other!

Installed PKT Quicken 2.0 ...SAME PROBLEM...PC freezes during last part of sync, (during "Backup of hand held....") and, of course.... wife's DLX works/syncs w/PKT Quicken (both versions) just fine!

H E L P ! ! ! !

Wink Re: Prism

John, it might have been the Deluxe patches from Handspring that is causing the problems.

Try removing whatever patches (that you downloaded from Handspring.com) from your X:\Program Files\Palm\Username\Backup (where X is your harddrive, ie; C:\ )

And then after you have done that, Hotsync your Prism.

If that fails, rename your Username folder to something else, like Username2, hardreset your Prism, and Hotsync. PalmDesktop should ask you whether you want to backup or not, or create a new user. Choose the latter.

Then after that, install app by app, db by db to your Prism.

That should be a fail-proof method.

Cheers.
