Question

Hey gang, does anyone have a good idea of how I can strap my Visor to my leg? I would like to use it while flying an airplane for various functions. I think some sort of adjustable belt that is thin enough that it could could slip between the back of the Visor and the clip-on cover would be perfect, something just long enough to fit around my thigh, and clip underneath it. What would work well for that?

There was a sort of strap case that was designed to attach a Palm/Visor to one's forearm (for use in construction related industries) but I disremember the URL.
This was discussed in a form on Visor Central.

Thumbs up

Recipe:

Visor
Visor clip-on cover
tape measure
4 feet inch wide elastic
4" sew on velcro

*Use tape measure to find circumfrence of leg.
*Cut elastic to that measurement minus approx. 1"
*Turn over about 1/4" of elastic ends and hem to prevent fraying
*Attach 2" of hook side of velcro on one end of elastic
flip elastic over, and attach 2" of loop side of velcro to other end
*repeat for 2nd strap
*lay both straps over Visor cover, then attach Visor

If everything works out right, you should be able to stretch the elastic around your leg and hook the velcro, and have your Visor snugly attached.

You might want to test the elastic a couple of times to find the measurement before you cut it - too long and it won't be snug enough, too short and it will be too tight, or will come loose.

Talking Thanks! Excellent idea!

I knew there would be an easy way of doing it! Here's a thought too: instead of using 2 strips of elastic, how about one thick (3 1/2") one that fits between the "nubs" on the cover? That may even make it a little more secure/easier to deal with. Thanks again!!!

Dave

P.S. Winchell, Thanks too. I think the case was something like orang-otang or bananna or something. If they made a leg version, I'd be in business! :-)

How about a shortened Ace Bandage with some sewn on velcro?
