Lightbulb

there has been solar battery charger out there for VDX owners(see other thread from 1999!), but one for Prism owners just came out.
looks kinda neat, too.
it said "visor(on its way)", but bunch of e-mail from visor fanatics might make it come here faster...

my dream is a jacket having solar panels on shoulders and back, put visor and MD player and mobilephone in pockets, and jackets recharge them for me while I`m walking. if it has built-in AC(using idea that Sharper Image came up last year), that would be really "cool", you know.

This is not quite your jacket you always wanted... but the technology for the recharging pockets is being worked on (in a way). This site, http://www.design.philips.com/vof/v...d2/recharge.htm shows a system of recharging trays, which you could just throw appliances (small appliances ) in, and they charge. Pretty cool, if you ask me.

Radioshack.com offers a few solar battery rechargers. One version charges AAA and AA batteries, has a sotrage space internally, AND offers a variety of jacks and connectors to do things like trickle charge a car battery, power things with a DC power jack, and so on.

Not super portable, it is the size of a hardcover dictionary, but lighter. The lid has the panels and it opens up to different angles to catch the sun the best.

Pretty cool for a basecamp and that sort of thing!
