for gods sake;

i am not concerned about safety issues; i mean; jeez thinking your important info is safe today is a crock anyway, but I AM concerned a little with handspring. What bothers me isn't that they are cutting there timing to fine; but their inability to throw a workign system together. Seriously, anyone with half a brain could get a linux box runnign php and mysql to handle a large volume of data in a day, throw on some security and you can make it available to the general public too; otherwise just hide it behind a firewall. Either way I am dissapinted that they cannot do the simple task the palm was meant to do, AVOID PAPER.

LEt's just hope this does not reflect on the quality of the product too.

I hope that anyone with concerns about the security of their credit card number with Handspring never uses their credit card at a restaurant or petrol station. I have been professionally involved in preventing such fraud. Market price for valid credit card numbers is often below $5.

If you want complete security, then you need a paper-based system. No computerised system (even many Department of Defense systems but hopefully not NSA's) is as secure as good physical protective security.

Computers can make ordering more efficient, but I've had plenty of experiences to the contrary.

IMHO the real question is whether Handspring's business processes will deliver what they promise.

If they were willing to ship overseas, I'd be ordering one today.
