Angry

Installed the IrLink 1.5 stuff and Visor see's my laptop when I perform the detect devices - Windows98 Infrared monitor "sees" Visor when I move it into range. Select Hotsync from Visor - "Waiting for sender" message and NOTHING happens.
Does something else in Win98 have to be installed? Have bios IRDA port set to COM2 (the factory default for IR). Infrared Monitor - Options Tab has "Providing application support on COM5 - LPT4. Device mangler shows "Virtual serial and lpt port.

HELP!

What are the HotSync Manager settings?

You'll need to enable Local Serial and select the proper COM port (2?) under Setup... Local.

That's how I have it set - I do not understand why IR Monitor states that it wants to communicate over COM5 - I do not have a COM5 nor is COM5 selectable under the HotSync manger - but I guess that is a Windows issue.
I did go off an install Beamsync but it did not help.

How many "real" (physical) serial ports do you have? If you're not using it (them), you can try disabling them in BIOS and then see if Windows will set the IR port to 1 or 2.
