Hi everyone.

I was stupid enough to buy a VDX w/ USB cradle. So, now I wonder if there is a way to use all the nice Palm Apps out there written for use w/ serial port. Is the only way to buy a serial cradle from Handspring(30 Bucks!) or does anybody have an idea if it is possible to make a serial cable by myself?

A serial cable can be made... there's a thread lurking somewhere in here with some pretty good how-to instructions, too.

The thing to remember is that the Visor "speaks" TTL rather than RS232 so a converter chip needs to be used. The MAX203 works quite well for this ( www.maxim.com ).

I'm currently working on one for myself... just waiting for the Handspring connectors to show up.
