Modem not found

I use Blazer, MultiMail, and EyeMail, along with my cell phone. Things have been great for quite sometime until when changing the batteries in my Visor, it crashed hard. It didn't go over the time allotment for battery exchange yet I ended up having to do a hard reset. I found afterwards that I couldn't go online after that. I have checked all my settings and have even remounted some of the applications with no luck. I also use AvantGo. I use a patch cord to my cell phone and maybe it could be that. I am checking with the maker to find out which pins are active for a continuity check. I am suspicious of the Visor only because of the crash and the proximity of the hotsync pins and the batteries. Is there any possiblity something could have gotten dropped in the Visor after the hard reset that wouldn't allow it to locate the modem? Would anybody know anything about this sort of thing? Any suggestions?
