Unhappy

Am I the only one who thinks there is an inherent flaw with the spring board modules? What bugs me is that you can only have one of them at a time. So, if I'm using the eyemodule I can't have the extra RAM of the 8MB Flash module (and just then I REALLY need it!). If I'm using the eyemodule, I also can't be reached on the Visor phone....
I have the feeling that this severely limits the benefits of a lot of the modules. If the modules are just game modules - that should work fine, but if they convert your Visor into something essential (digital camera, cell phone, pager, etc) it bugs me that the Visor can only be one at a time.
Just a thought for discussion...

Talking

Be glad it isn't a Palm!

Just think about all of those poor Palm users who have to disconnect their modem to plug in a keyboard.

Granted, the Springboard slot isn't perfect because it does not allow us to do everything at the same time, but at least we have it at all!

Why not push for Bluetooth development? If every module/applaince worked with Bluetooth your Visor may be the key at accessing every device in your home/office, wirelessly!

What about a Springboard Docking Station? Imagine a device that sits on your desk and allows you to plug in 4 Springboard modules. This in turn would plug into the Visor. This way you could transfer data between CF cards, surf the Internet wirelessly and play Presenter-to-go presentations from your CF card.

These are some cool ideas, kamalot!
I hope everybody understands that this isn't a "complaint post", just some musings....

This is exactly the solution. Being able to physically plug in more than one module doesn't seem feasible.

Hmmm...sounds like a really interesting idea. I'm not sure if the processor or OS would support such a thing, though. I'd think that a Bluetooth module with Bluetooth peripherals that perform those functions would be much more likely.

Understood. The way I saw it was "at least you're thinking".

Question

Folks,

I was glad when I bought my Visor in September to see
that a blue tooth module was supposed to be released at some point.

In France it seems that nobody is really interested by Blue tooth technology development. Can you see anything happening in other countries, or is it already a "dead-not born" yet tehnology ?
