My stepson goes to his dads every other weekend and I am not sure what catagory this goes into nor how to repeat it 'every other weekend' I saw a previous post about appointments, but this is more of an event?

Good news and bad news on this one...this works on the Visor in Datebook+ but not on the Palm Desktop calendar (at least not in the Mac version).

Just like in the other post...select new floating event, repeat week, set to every two weeks and select the affected days (Sat & Sun?). This will give an untimed event at the top of the day every other Sat & Sun.

The bad news: when you Hotsync, this event will not show up on your calendar and there will be a Hotsync log message:

"Palm Desktop does not support untimed events of the type held by..."<eventname>

If this is different in Windows I wouldn't know.
