I sure hope emulator springboards will be introduced, specifically ones emulating the various HP calculators, and a Gameboy emulator would be nice, too

OK, a Gameboy emulator I can understand, but why an HP one? I should think the lil' buddy has enough calculation power to run natively as an HP - it IS programmable, after all! ;] Or are you talking about something else I didn't understand?

Since you can get an 8MB Flash memory module, I wouldn't worry about an emulator springboard ... just get someone to write the app and store it there! I'm sure Gambit (gameboy emu) will fit on an 8MB CF card.
Gameboy ROMs aren't that big, really. If you're going with the Deluxe (ha! it just hit me that Visor Deluxe abbrevs to V.D.) you should have plenty of memory for one or two ROMs ... uhm, not that anyone would be collecting or distributing such files.
Although, a springboard that acted as an adapter to the GB cartridge itself ... there's a thought.
Re: HerbCSO's response-- my main reason for wanting an HP calculator emulator springboard is so that i wouldn't have to carry around multiple devices. if someone can program a fast HP 12C or 48G (with plotting) software emulator, then i'm all for it!

Well. There are some points about GameBoy emulators.
The first one is: Gambit is written in C AFAIK and would be too slow on a Palm device to make any sense. I know that this might be different on a Visor as the developers state this thingy would be 50% faster.
There is a guy who is currently working on an assembler rewrite of a GameBoy emulator for PalmOS and rumors are he has already managed to get Tetris to run.
The next thing is: you can get a full grown Color Gameboy with IR and stuff like that for less than 100$. So where�s the point? I�d prefer /that/ display over the Visor�s for games.

As with the calculator emulator, my main reason for wanting a Gameboy emulator springboard is to be able to carry less and do more. Maybe some genius can rip out the guts of the original Gameboy and repackage it as a springboard, complete with its own high-quality speaker but using the Visor's screen (with Nintendo's consent of course).
