I was just a wondering what the difference is between the cable and the cradle... as I was considering buying a second cradle for home but saw that the cable was cheaper and... well... a cable... instead of some ugly white plastic thing to knock your drink into...
If there is actually no difference then why would you need a cradle ever? why not just use a cable...

One word... convenience.
The cradle actually holds the VDx (and looks neat, too ), while the cable requires that you lay the Visor down or hold it. The main difference between the two is the lack of a HotSync button on the USB cable. To sync, you need to manually start a sync from the HotSync app on the Visor.

Other wise it's the same. Speed is the same. It's just how it connects. Cables are best for travel, or a foldable cradle (like the iBiz one), becasue they can be forced into a small space. Cradles though are bulky and large. icky..
For desktops, or if you don't move it much, get a cradle. I have one cable, that I barely use. so..
