Unhappy

Well, guess what... it was inevitable I guess, but I just experienced my first real problem with my Prism. I have had it for 3 months now, and this is the first hard reset I have had to do... still beats my NT, and 98 box... I don't want to talk about how many times I have had to re-install OS's on that!!! I had a backup module, so actually I am kinda excited, this is the first time I have had to use it... atleast now I can justify the $40... I wish that they had a backup module for PC's. Just pop 'em in, and hit a button, now that'd be cool.

I don't know exactly what brought about the problem, I have a feeling it was hackmaster. I installed a hack, and then it told me I need to restart. So that is what I did, got stuck in a loop. Did a warm reset (up key with pin in back), then went to hackmaster to uninstall everything, and got an error. Restarted... and screen was bugging out... pretty wierd. So, hard reset... and then disecting hackmaster. Right now, I get stuck in a reset loop again.

This brings me to an idea. I am getting stuck in a reset loop because of hackmaster (maybe... more testing needs to be done for me to be sure), and the backup module keeps re-installing hackmaster when I restore it. Soooo... wouldn't it be cool if the backup module gave you a list of the files on it, and when you wanted to restore, you just selected which ones you wanted, or don't want restored... that way it can be a sort of trouble shooter if something bails out, after it has been running for a while. What do you guys think?

As it is, I have spent about 20 minutes getting my Prism back up and running... not too bad when compared to a PC .

RocketSci,

Could you list what hacks you were running at the time that may have caused you this problem?

thanks in advance
Virgil

The only hack I had running at the time was Afterburner. I had just installed the Popme! hack that comes with Bugme!, but I had not turned it on. After version was version 3.0t. Do you think it was one of the hacks, or was it Hackmaster, or a combination... I would suspect a combination myself.

I am running X-Master now, just to try that out... and all seems to be running fine. Gotta love the backup module .

OK... how do you not back up a program on the module? Do I have to delete them, backup, then re-install them? Is there a switch... or maybe a program... or maybe there is a hack that will stop hacks from being backed up?
