Post At least one new non-wireless handheld coming from Handspring...

http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/handhe...39015541,00.htm

"To clarify that, Jeff issued a statement saying that while we never talked about a new product, people should see another non-wireless handheld computer coming from Handspring...We're not giving any details about our next handheld but you will see one, and it will be non-wireless."

- Bill Holtzman, Handspring VP (International)

Looks like the death of the prism isn't the death of the color Handspring. I wonder if it will be of the visor line? Gotta be.

I say it will be a color pro. that and the color treo will be the last of the non-ARM Handsprings..

Well that's just grand...just grand...I'm supposed to believe that when JH issued his damage control statement that he just forgot to mention that HS was working on a new PDA?

And now all of a sudden the Int'l HS guy says oh, yeah, we just didn't want to talk about it?

Ding...Ding HS, the train's already left the station, Donna D sent it out, Jeff H waved it bye bye, and this HS loyalist went and got a ticket on another train. (I love train metaphors. ;-)

The money I had saved for a new Color Edge w/SD card support, bought me a fancy new Clie 760C...and I couldn't be happier.

Now, if HS's puts out a 16MB Color Edge, w/SD card support, and a built in thumboard (considering Palm's percarious Xerox lawsuit), we'll talk..otherwise...keep on moving.

But, I'm not bitter....well, maybe a touch.

Here we go again. . .

I know, I know! I have inside info! It's gonna be called the Visor Try'n'guess. It will have absolutely everything you could hope for in a PDA, including hype, leaks, and exaggerated reports. Also included are PDA fanatics who swear that if this one doesn't desplay 10,000 shades of purple they'll jump off the nearest bridge.

Update: Also, there should be enough dots on the screen that you could see all shades of purple 10 times over.

they never talk about new products untill they launched. if you remember, jeff outright denied that a color visor was in the works, and all of the sudden, poof: prism.

the treo was an eception because of the whole fcc liscencing leak.

and you do seem more than a touch bitter....

Probably realized that their futile attempts at PR after Donna's statement were not working and decided to release a Visor they had in the works but were going to scrap. Maybe they monitor these boards more than we think they do...

Sad to say, when Handspring was in Singapore to launch the Treo, I had the chance to speak to one of the Handspring engineers.

And when I asked whether he had heard or visited VisorCentral, he said he did, only just once or twice. Sad

Then I told him that VisorCentral IS the BEST website on anything Handspring on the Internet, and he was like, "Really?!". LOL.

The Handspring staff were using the Edge. I didn't see anyone of them carrying the Prism or Deluxe models.

Cheers,
Andre
