Any special application is required?

I can beam phone numbers to and from my nokia 7110 (with minor limitations, eg: addresses don't go from palm to phone. but why should they. and the firstname surname order is switched beaming from Visor to phone).

But calender entries don't go across. that might need software.
As for other nokias I couldn't tell you.

Sure you can beam Calender entries to your Nokia 7110. But it can only be done with the Datebook application. (unfortunatly not DB+)

Lightbulb

You can use 7110 and 8xxx for sure. They have a 100% Irda compatible infraport.

does that mean you can effectively use them as wireless modems for the visor, to browse, send/receive email, etc?

Question

Does anyone here have experience with the Nokia 6120?

How compatible is the infrared connection with that model?

Quite a bit.

It's not. The 6120 has no IR functionality. The little window at the top is purely cosmetic.
