Question

For those of you that have successfully downloaded the Visor ROM using Poser 1304.a, what's your secret? I'm using a serial cradle on Win95 with all the hacks turned off. All I can get is a 36k file. Occassionally I also get the 10004 error. Especially when I try changing the serial port speeds from 115200. Any ideas?

Although I was never able to successfuly download the ROM my co-worker was able to. He's using NT4.0 w/ a serial cable. His Visor is less than a month old and I'm assuming his Visor just has less "stuff" on it than mine did (I had mine since November). No secret mojo here, I guess he just got lucky...

My ROM transfer worked flawlessly using the latest version of POSE and the serial cradle. I did, however, need to disable ALL hacks, do a soft reset, AND disable the USB HotSync option before it would.

My virtual Visor is identical to my real one except for the fact that I have to use the blue skin... I happen to prefer my Ice!!!

how did you disable the USB HotSync? I turned everything off, including hackmaster, and it just keep saying "waiting...", no progress

I'm using win2k and a serial cradle.

I found that one more thing needed to be disabled, IrLink. but after tuning that off, it became keep saying "error #10004".

anyidea?

When you right-click on the HotSync Icon in the Taskbar, make sure Local USB is un-checked while Local Serial is. Also, make sure your serial port settings are correct on the PC (must be if you're using the serial cradle) and in the ROM Transfer utility on the Visor. Lastly, try a SOFT reset just before attempting the ROM download, remembering to NOT reinstall your hacks.

I'm using HotSync Manager v3.0.4, which has only one "local" option, along with "modem" and "network". I can't choose usb or serial.

And, it says in POSE2, rom transfer step 5: "5. Disable HotSync or any other application that may be using the selected serial port."

shouldn't I turn the hotsync manager off when transfering the rom?
