Fatal errors and Can Visor Neo sync to BOTH Mac & Windows?

I just received a Visor Neo as a Best Buy replacement for my beloved Palm IIIxe (sigh...RIP).

I synced my IIIxe to both my home Mac (OS 8.0) and office Windows (98) machines. It never occurred to me that the Visor would have problems with this.

I spent the weekend pulling my hair out trying to get it to sync to my IIIxe data on my home Mac. After several attempts, including un-installing and re-installing the Palm Desktop software, it finally synced. However, any time I tried to switch categories in the Neo's Launcher , it gave me the following fatal error:

failed

I deleted all 3rd party apps, did multiple hard resets, and finally gave up syncing to my Mac (for now), deleted and uninstalled all Palm related software (including my old IIIxe data files) and went in to work to sync to my work PC.

In 15 minutes the whole thing was set up and running my IIIxe data fine. The only difference from this attempt vs. the Mac was that I removed the entire Backup folder the first time, rather than in desperation later.

The only thing I can figure is that my IIIxe system preferences were creating the fatal error, since I have not installed them doing the PC sync, but they were always there on the Mac attempts.

Any insight into this problem?
Can I sync to both machines?
Handspring's site is Mac-friendlier than Palm's, but support lookup doesn't address using BOTH systems. I haven't received a response to my email yet.
