Clear Cover Idea

Hi All,
Here is a cool idea I just thought of;
Can Handspring or some other company
provide a replacement Visor cover?
They can even provide these covers
in different transparent colors. I would like a
clear shaded one myself : ).

Is anybody else here tired of their present Visor cover?

I would like to see some of these. There are some from gethightech.com, but aren't realy that good. They are a tad bit bigger and made with softer plastic. Making them for the Prism would be a bonus, especialy if they were transparent. Easy couple of bucks each for Handspring I would think.

When I wanted a couple extra ice covers for various purposes, I asked handspring if I could buy a couple, and the helpful person there told me she would send me a free one, but it was in graphite. She told me that they really don't sell them.

A couple months later (or a couple weeks ago), our office bought some more Deluxes in a variety of colors- and they all came with ice covers and styli.

visor cover

The original cover is practically useless to anybody with an oversized module always installed, such as a VisorPhone or an Eyemodule(2).

The FlipCover offers a solution for the flush modules but again, none for the the oversized ones.

What I want to see is a cover that slides onto the Visor body. The original cover clips on to the top (springboard) and bottom (cradle pins) of the body. I'm thinking of one that clips onto the sides. It can be slid off the front and then slid on to the back while the Visor is being used. It does not even have to cover the whole front for me, just the screen.

I do not know if somebody els has come up with this. Anybody want to manufacture this and make millions out of it, be my guest, just send me a free one.

I've solved my problem.

I could not use the original cover of my VPL before because I have my VPhone attached all the time. The top tab was the problem, so, I grabbed my Dremel tool and simply sliced off the tab. After smoothing the edges a bit, it fit perfectly with the top edge flush against the VPhone.

It does not lock into place, of course, but it stays in place when I slip it all into the original slip cover. I now have my VPL in a Jansport belt bag and I can easily slide it in and out in a flash.

And I do not have to worry about damaging the screen anymore.

Flip Cover

Go to www.tactilis.com . I have bought from them. Comes in all colors and still lets you use any module. Does not interfere in any way actualy uses a hinged Palm 111 cover. Cost $10

This is a pretty clear Visor cover that snaps onto the bottom and sides to allow an over-sized moodule (like, surprisingly enough, the Geode GPS module!), and has cut-outs for both the Prism and Deluxe on buttons.
