Smile Received Prism

I received mine today in Indiana. Haven't received an email with shipping information yet nor has the debit card been dinged yet. The extra cradle has been shipped separately if I'm reading the packing slip right.

Woo hoo! Folks who ordered Express on Sunday should see their Prisms today. I ordered Sunday night at about 10:30 EDT and mine just arrived about five minutes ago.

Now to go find a socket for the cradle's power supply! :-)

Unhappy Marginally Happy but....

Received Prism at 9:40AM PST via FedEx ordered on Monday about the same time. It's in the charging cradle for the next two hours. As I prep my Palm Vx and backup buddy properly etc making certain to fully charge the Prism before first use.

However, the Travel Charger and Bi-Fold Case were on backorder. edit but to be nice - Handspring did not hold the order awaiting 100% shipping of all items ordered. Now if they will just ship me all of the backordered items via FedEx since I did pay for it when they arrive I'll be a truly Happy Moose.

Just got my Prism at 10:05am PT. She's now charging for the suggested two hours. After that, BackupBuddy gets to flex it's muscles.

Smile

'Lo All,

My first post in these forums, although I've been lurking since August when I bought my VisorDLX.

I'm upgrading to 16bit Color and just ordered this morning (10/18/00) @ 9:10am PDT. I opted for the Express Delivery.

Sounds like some folks are receiving their orders with 2-3 days after placing the order, so I'm hopeful for a Friday delivery, but not holding my breath!

--

Order Updated to "Pending" on the web site, ~11:00pm PDT on 10/18/00.

Order Confirmation email sent, 12:04 AM PDT on 10/19/00

Delivery tomorrrow is looking better all the time!

--

10/19/00 - 11:44pm Order shipping confirmation email sent, and this morning handspring.com shows status as "shipped."
FedEx tracking shows it being picked up in Orem, UT on 10/19/2000 @ 16:43.

Just over 31.5 hours from ordering to shipping, and it looks like they're at least starting to get the email notifications coordinated with the events.

I'll be opening the box when I get to work today. Hope there's an open AC outlet under my desk!

-H

I ordered a Prism about 10 minutes ago. Express shipping.

I waited for almost 3 months for my Blue VDX (I was a very early order), so I am please to see that people are already getting orders placed on Sunday.

Hope the screen is not as bad as some say.

Dave

--------Update----------
It took about 8 hours for Handspring to send the automated confirmation email.

Status shows as "Pending" on the website.

--------Update----------
My Prism arrived today (Friday 10-20)
Total time from order to delivery - 44 hours!

Handspring has done it right! -- this time.

By the way, if you've ordered your Prism and it hasn't shown yet, don't be discouraged by a "Pending" status on Handspring's web site. Mine still reads "Pending", despite the fact that I have mine in-hand.

Thumbs up Mine's here as well..(initial observations)

Arrived first thing this morning.

Initial observations next to my Palm IIIc:

1. Screen is MUCH brighter (same setting on both)
2. Shorter than IIIc and just a fraction thicker at the bottom.
3. USB Sync blows PALM USB kit speed away
4. Seems much faster than my IIIc

Me too. Mine just came in! Okay....Handspring has really gotten its act together. (But I "appreciate" their little memorial to last year's faux pas: like everyone else, my card hasn't been charged yet, and my order is still "pending." So there's no tracking number available for the order that has already arrived...But who's complaining!

Order placed on 10/15/2000 09:14:04 PM

Talking Woohoo!

My Prism is charging as I type this....came sometime today, picked up at FedEx after work. Express shipping. It's smaller & lighter than I thought. The body is kind of metallic blue, graffiti area is silver. It's really cool

Well, I would have received it today had I been awake at 8:47 when the FedEx guy came by. Doh. Great, now I'm not going to be able to sleep knowing it's coming tomorrow. It's like Christmas Eve, only a lot more expensive.

Wow! FedEx is GOOD!

I too got confirmation of shipping today, but alas, my Prism is on a slow truck to Texas (I went with the free shipping).

Received Partial

Previously posted that I received my Prism on Wednesday. Case and travel charger are on backorder. Received confirmation from Handspring today of shipment with notification of some stuff on backorder.

Called Customer Service to determine timeframe on case and travel charger - they have no clue when those items will arrive.

I'll give Handspring credit for apparently making certain that they didn't follow Compaq's lead with iPaq and not having enough for demand but let's face it - C.S. should be informed on timing issues for items that never made it for shipment.

I doubt seriously that the cases or travel charger were ever in stock.

Did anyone get either the bi-fold case or travel charger yet?

Cool

Well I got an e-missive from Handspring this morning telling me that my order had been partially shipped (Serial cradle on backorder). So I went to their handy dandy web site to see if I could find a tracking number. Yep, there was a UPS tracking number on the second page of my order (I went the 'free' shipping route). And was surprised to see that the order that I placed on Monday, actually shipped on Tuesday from Handspring. And that the tracking number indicated the package was scanned in my home town several hours before Handspring sent me the shipping notice.

I can now happily say that I have my Prism in hand and that I will be showing it off to everyone on Friday. Now if only the Minstrel-S modem was available....
