I'm not sure if the Sony PEG-N710C is the perfect pda but its dam close. I'm sure in three years it'll be here. What Sony did is prove that multimedia can be an intergrated into the palm platform well.

Now I'm not saying that Palm is in trouble, but if I was Carl Y, I'll be more nervous than a Christian scientist with appendicitis. 
I take that back...Palm IS in trouble.
I don't think that insight.com is reporting accurate info. Although Palm OS 4.0 will be pretty neat on the N610C...
Everything is just speculation now...but SONY has wowed us with the N710C, I have no doubt that these new Clie's will have the same "wow" factor, maybe even something that we might be expecting...
Notice that CDW has N610C/V
Could this be two separate handhelds? The N610C and the N610V?
The "C" denotes color, what the hell does the "V" stand for?
I remember reading from Palmstation couple of months back that Sony is coming out with a "gaming clie" maybe the N610V is it?
Or the N610C is a color version and the N610V is a monochrome version with MP3 playback. Sorta splitting the N710C.
Oh, did I mentioned...Palm is in trouble.

Oh yeah, I don't think that Palm will sale off it's software branch. That's the only thing the Palm has to bank on now. The hardware division is the albatross. In terms of hardware innovation, Palm has been past by all of it's licensees (Sony, Handspring, and HandEra). Well...then again, Palm has not done much in the OS department either. 
It's sad if you really look at it. Palm was da bomb 5 years ago. This company beat Microsoft!! I cannot stress that enough that not only did Palm beat MS, they dominated 90% of the handheld market.
They should have never let Hawkins and Dubinsky leave, you take the heart and soul away from a company and it's dying. 
Makes you wonder, if Hawkins and Dubinsky did stay on... how much of a bad-ass will Palm be now?

After Fat Man posted the link to CDW, I ordered a 610C for 377.46. Now the web page says call for price and availability.
I got a e-confirmation of the order and the price but did not get an anticipated ship date but I did get an order number.
I wonder what they plan on doing with my order.....more later.

They listed both the N610C & the N710C on the rebate offer all day. Sometime after 4pm Sony removed it from the rebate offer. Looks like someone's getting yelled at in the marketing department ;-)
