Question

I don't use my Prism more than an hour a day and yet it needs recharging before the day is over. The strange thing is it seems to last well when emptied of data, add-on applications and springboard modules! Can anyone figure this one out?

The apps I'm using are:
GalaxDB.PRC
SwedishChars.PRC
AvantGo.PRC
MobileLink.PRC
libmal.PRC
Graffiti_ShortCuts_.PRC
LicenseMgr.PRC
Saved_Preferences.PRC
Zap!2016.PRC
HsPhotoAlbum.PRC
ActiveSky_Video.PRC
HackMaster.PRC
Galax.PRC
PocketChess.PRC

I have quite a bit of data in the apps, I only have 4MB available. I use the SoundsGood springboard module.

Thanks

I'm not sure about some of the apps you're running, but 1 hour is not normal. I just had mine off and on running over the Holiday Weekend (beginning Thursday) and I still had about 20% left on it this morning.

Just back it up, call Handspring. They'll probably have a replacement to you within a day or two and then you can send yours in and back up your files onto the new device.

Your experience definitely isn't normal. Running my MiniJam MP3 module for over 2 hours continuously only used 1/4 of my Prism battery.

I am not sure if this is the same problem as the one "boenna" has, but just today I am using my Prism with OmniSky connected to it all day for about 5-10 minutes each occasion. When I got home at 8:00 PM, the battery is 62%. Is THIS normal?

I have been able to extend the battery life considerably by using a lower brightness setting. I mostly use Prism indoors which allows me to use a fairly low setting.

I'm not sure about the Soundsgood, but when I had a MiniJam/Visor Deluxe, I could drain a set of batteries in one day, if I used it all day - BUT if you are only using it about an hour a day, something is wrong. Contact Handspring.

I have found the SoundsGood springboard module to be the problem. It drains the battery even when not used. I've contacted Handspring & Good, I'll post their replies.

Good.com have given me a SoundsGood replacement unit that works fine with my Prism! I'm a happy visor user again.
