Angry Visor's battery problem

My Visor Deluxe Ice was purchased back in March of 2000. I was one of the 1st to get Visor when it came out. It wowed even those who knew nothing about PDA's and I was proud of my little machine. About 2 months later...it started to happen. It crashed and crashed...called tech support and they said that it was due to my third party programs!!! What's a PALM OS without all those third party vendor programs!!! They told me to remove all of those programs and I reluctantly did so. Problem did not go away!!! So finally, after several calls, they agreed to replace it with a new one. Guess what. Batteries dying in their sleep. My duracell AAA's didn't last 48 hours and I had it on for less than 10 minutes!!! I put in fresh ones and poooff!!! gone and gone again.
After wasting about 10 batteries in a matter of a week, I called Visor again and finally one tech said that they were aware of this battery drainage issue due to electrical flaw. He went ahead and replaced it with a new one again.(hmm, by this time I began to forget how to use a PDA...) Guess what folks...it drains the batteries!!! AGAIN!!!
I truly loved the radical design of a Visor and the fact that they were going up against Palm(kinda like David and Goliath). But the mechanical/electrical flaws it had really made me lose faith in the product and in the company. I hope that if Handspring is aware of such problems, they replace it with a fully functional unit to al those who are without a PDA even though they paid good $2-300.
