Help with "dialing- up" with Nokia 8290

Hello. First I would like to say I enjoy this forum. There is a LOT of useful info for "dummies" like me Anyway, I have the prism and a Nokia 8290 with wireless IR. How do I set up my prism do dial my ISP "PacBell" through my dial-up connection and get my prism to check my pop3 mail? I have a POP3 mail client installed on the VP but am having trouble "dialing up" and getting connected to my ISP 1st. Thanks for ANY help.

The easiest way is to get hold of the Palm Mobile Internet Kit. The installation will take you through the process step-by-step. It will help you create an IR profile for the 8290.

To justify the cost, it includes a full version of Multimail, SMS software and gives you full web clipping software like the Palm VII.

This is how I set up my 8290 with a number of devices.

Thanks. I was able to figure it out by going to the "preference" and then pull down the "network" tab and went from there. I had to call my Cell co "Cingular" and subscribe to a service for $4.99 a mo (they are letting me try free for a week to see if I can get this working first) They tell me it will take about 24 hours for the service to be activated. Thank for the help..
