One week of Visor life and, so far, all is well

The Visor showed up three weeks sooner than expected
Both Cradles (an extra USB cradle) came at the same time
It took a combined 25 mintues to set up on both computers
Not a single problem with HotSynch with Outlook 2000.

The Stylus is ok, not a scratch to be seen anywhere (using a screen protector now anyway, why chance it).

The unit is solid as a rock, not a creak, rattle, flex or wiggle to be found.

After two to three hours use a day for a week, the batteries that came with the Visor have about 50% charge left.

Graffiti was much easier to learn than expected.

I couldn't be happier!
So if you are considering buying a Visor, here is at least one happy camper

My only beef, and it is minor, I am still waiting for my leather case.

SpiceUmUp,

I'm hopeful that I,too, will experience the same good fortune when I finally get around to ordering miy Visor in the next week or so.

Seems that the more recent posts have been on the positive side. Quicker delivery times and better functioning product overall.

Perhaps the worst is over for Handspring. Hopefully, they are also working to correct the remaining issues with those that ordered much, much earlier.

It has been 2 weeks since I received my Visor and about 3.5 weeks since I ordered it .. I agree .. I couldn't be happier with it .. I took the advice of this discussion board and haven't used the stylus on the unit, got some WriteRights immediately and went software crazy with the unit. This could be one of those devices where I wonder how I lived without it ..

I sync in the morning before going to work and on the way to work I can flip though my AvantGo channels to catch up on Palm news, world news, market information, etc.. At work I use it for the basic PIM stuff (datebook, address book, notes, etc) along with the occasional game (Dopewars, Rally, Chess (though I am no good at it..), Frogger, etc..) I have a variety of e-books loaded and have found the built-in calculator to be very helpful on several occasions.

I agree with the ease of use with Graffiti -- the first few days I sat down with the unit and played Giraffe extensively -- I am pretty good at my letters and numbers -- with WPM (freeware) I can get around 13 WPM.. can't wait to get that stowaway keyboard and really freak WPM out .. hhehehe..

After school gets back into session I am anxiously awaiting the use of the Visor to take my notes on (hopefully I will have the keyboard early February..) -- should be much more productive and educational (instead of the head bobbing motion that I am so very use to and the ritual deciphering of my cryptic handwriting when studying..) And if all else fails, after the six-pack comes out, maybe I could use that to do some web surfing or maybe some day trading (hhehe..)

Joe

oh yeah .. as far as creaks, cracks, etc.. none so far .. nice solid unit

If you want to talk about lucky I've got a story for you....After ordering my Visor and serial Cradle Handspring charged my CC $307.39. When my serial cradle didn't come in I wrote to customer service and eventually Donna Dubinsky. Donna sent me a Free graphite cradle and said that when the Ice cradle comes in I would have an extra. A couple of days later Handspring creideted my CC $320.05, and a week later my Ice cradle arrived. So I ended up with A Blue Visor Deluxe, matching leather case, a graphite serial cradle, ice serial cradle, and ice usb cradle and Handspring even ended up depositing $12.66 in my account ....... Top That!!!

I was also lucky. Visor deluxe arrived 4 weeks after order. Everything worked like a champ. No scratches, dings or errors. Our company bought 4 of these and reports are same for all of them. This is a bargain. I tried out the palm 3's and it was not even close. The visor was just plain better value add. The blue color makes it even cooler
