Wink

Howdy....I got my OVDx for Christmas and I love it!!! Got 3 minor concerns tho...

First: Within an hour of getting the visor, i had a healthy scratch on my writing area, despite having the nice weighted metal replacement stylus'. I am now extremely paranoid about scratching and am wondering why, if its such a huge problem, does no store in my entire city even have Writerites or other Screen Protectors even on their entire computer system. Should i complain to my parents and make them spend an additional 40 bucks to get the screen protectors (they already had enough trouble getting the thing to canada!), or just let the thing scratch up and then polish them out later. (if thats even possible).

Second: Creak, creak.....my visor case creaks an clicks a bit when i squeeze it on the sides. I don't even squeeze it that hard, but it still creaks a bit....minor, granted, but a bit of an annoyance...does it do that to you guys?

Third, and probably the most annoying: I think i have a defect on my OVDx. I was dragging across the screen when i felt some little clickity-bumpy almost textured feeling under my stylus. After examining the screen under bright light, i found that there are little, tiny, evenly spaced bumps (almost like a little mini dot-grid) on the right 3-4cm of my screen....fairly undetectable to the eye, but right bloody weird to write over.....Is anyone else having this problem?

And, my biggest question is....should i phone handspring about these questions? or are you guys better tech support?

Dont' get me wrong...I love my visor more than anything else in my life (well, kinda), and i know i'm a worry-wort, but are these problems serious enough to warrant anyones attention? I mean, my visor is a far cry from dead-out-of the box.

1. I always make sure that the stylus tip is grit-free by rubbing it across my hand before writing with it. I used a Palm III for a year and a half and only got 1 small scratch. If a screen protector will make you feel better, you could always make some out of photocopier transparency film. There is a web page with an MS word document that you can print at http://www.geocities.com/SiliconVal...4/screenpr.html

2. No creaks here, can't help, sorry.

3. I rubbed the back (NOT THE EDGE!) of a fingernail over the screen and it seemed to cure the "sandy" feel of the screen. I think it has something to do with forcing the layers together. This took care of the "squishy" feel, too.

I hope this helps!

Thx
I do rub my stylus on my hand i find it works quite well...
However, the bumps on my screen it seems are actually on the top layer, and not something i can rub out....it looks like a little tiny grid as i said before...i'm wondering if it came off of the end of a piece of plastic and that was the marker or something...
