Hi

I have runtime on my visor and currently have a voltage of 2.45. At what voltage does the visor poop out? Anyone know.

It depends on the battery type. Standard alkalines warn at 2.10 volts and the "critical" level is 1.60 volts. NiMH's warn at 2.26 and "critical" is 1.90. As a rule, I swap out my NiMH's at the first warning message.

I don't really know what the voltage was but I went as low as 5% and was still able to save my data in the backup module and then replace the battery after that.

I was using the standard Panasonic Alkalines whe that happened. I'm using the e2's right now.

From what I can tell, the Energizer e2's haven't made it as far as Canada. I've checked several places like Batteries+ and Walmart among others. Anyone else from the Great White run across these things in a brick and mortar retailer?

I just bought 12 Duracell Ultras that should keep me going until these things filter across the border.

Pure Energy

I use Pure Energy batteries (from Wal-Mart in the Great White North) and I find that I get about as much time out of them as I do out of a normal set of Alkylines...but of course you can recharge them, which is a really nice benefit, and they're dirt cheap (about five bucks for a four pack).

Speaking of Wal-Mart, there must be something good at Wal-Mart after all...

I've been using their "Everactive" branded alkalines (6 pack for $3.37 US) and through Runtime 1.5.1, I'm averaging 30d 21:24 with a runtime of 11:50 (my "normal" usage patterns, YMMV). I usually replace the set when 2.10v is reached and a couple of warnings have been displayed.

Much better than what I was getting with the name brand alkalines.

I have the Pure Energy batteries as well and I find the runtime to be far less than that of the regular Panasonic alkalines that came with the Visor. I got 9:41 out of the regular alkalines and I get an average of about 3:30 with the Pure Energy rechargable.. Guess you can't complain about the price, though!

I had my batteries go to less than 1% (actually saw it at 0% and I turned it off..then turn it on back and it was at 1%) before I changed it the last time. I usually change it at about 5%.
