Question

I just purchased the 8meg flash module. I am confused about what can or can't go on it? I would like some people to give specific examples of how they are using the flash module, and also can I use it as both a backup module, and extra memory?? Thank

You can put Non-Editable Data on it. Most programs willl go on it, DOC files will go on it (but you have to use a DOC reader that will READ ONLY, not try to modify any files on the Flash Module...)

And As for using as a 'Backup Module' (keep in mind that the real backup module does this SO MUCH easier), you could copy your memodb, tododb, etc. onto the Flash Module, effectively creating a backup copy of your memos, todo list, etc.

I put big ebook files on my FM. For example, there are two files associated with each ebook sold by PeanutPress. The large one can go in the FM without compliant from PeanutReader. iSilo also lets you place its DOC files in the FM. Can't help you re: backup - - I got the BM to take care of that.

BTW, if you want to backup the stuff in the FM during a hotsync, you'll need to get the latest version of BackupBuddy. I don't think that the other backup utilities backup the contents of the FM at this time.

Thanks for the reply, I did go ahead and buy both modules anyway.... I love the backup module, but I am not sure what advantage the flash mod will be unless you have some huge reference files....I have one called epocratese it is a medication list....but the app will run on flash, but when I try to move all associated files to flash, I get a fatal error...

Try moving just the large files. Alternately, try moving just one at a time. Usually the large files are static data files that work fine in the FM.
