yeah, such is the nature of the beast.
I bought my VDX retail exactly a weekend before the Platinum and Prism were released.
It was horrible. I had two weeks for a full refund from the retailer, but was still deciding whether or not this thing was really that useful. Likewise I'd jsut gotten done filling the first 3 megs of this visor and being really taken by it, and I think the platinum color wasn't pretty.
In the end I decided to save my money, because you know when the SixPak came out, it wouldn't be that important if my visor was 50% faster, because of all the added functionality. that and the platinum color wasn't pretty.
Now I am drooling over an edge, and thinking of giving my VDX to my fiancee, but by the time the stowaway comes out for the edge, the edge will probably cost $300, the VDX might cost $150, and there will probably be another new device from handspring in the same 300-450 price range.
Wouldn't we all love to have more money, so we could quit worrying about who had the most information and the best analysis of how to save the money.

p.s. My father and I have done a fair amount of computer consulting and one of the best maxims we ever found was to maximize satisfaction, buy what does what you want to do today. ( I later decided that it was good to worry about sic months too, but, I bought my VDX and I just reached six months, and there are still only a few things that the plat can do and it can't)
