Question

Far be it from me to doubt Omnisky's wisdom as to where they spend their advertising dollars. Does anyone else find it...hmm...intriguing that they're paying for an awful lot of banner ads on VisorCentral?

A LOT of banners this month from Omnisky. They are preparing to launch their Springboard version service once the Novatel Wireless Minstrel S is ready, and want to get their name out.

I thought it would be more appropriate if the ads have picture of Visor instead of Palm V??

It sounds like VC knows a bit more about his then there telling No, sounds cool. Omisky is my wireless choice. (based on what I've heard and name rec etc.)

I was too wondering and hoping that OmniSky would come to the Visor. The best part about Omnisky is that it is an established service, something that many other palm users use and trust.
I can't wait for it to come.

Unhappy

Don't let yourself get too excited about wireless before checking coverage availability in your area. Most of us probably don't live in areas with coverage.

Befor you said that I knew you were from NY or MA. That's the only place I've ever heard the work "Peep". (So you don't have to search, I live in Boston)

On a more serious note (but not too serious ), did Omnisky buy all the ads for VC? That seems like a little overkill.

I knew I was going to regret saying a couple of weeks after I wrote that. It just feels like time is going so slow now that school has started, and during every computer class I come here to read.

Arrow AOL forms pact with OmniSky

AOL forms multi-year pact with OmniSky

America Online Inc. has formed a multi-year pact with potential competitor in the wireless arena OmniSky Corp. and made a minority investment (to pay for those VisorCentral ads ) in the company that provides wireless Internet services for users of handheld mobile devices. Under the terms of the deal with AOL, users of OmniSky's wireless service will be offered access to AOL's features, including instant messaging and e-mail. AOL members can also receive a customized version of the OmniSky
Wireless Internet service that will include links to AOL services and content, the companies said in a joint statement.

I would love to have an omnisky and if the modem is only 150 from them that would put it in my price range but the service is still a bit to high at 40 dollors a month, I think that I could handle 15 but not any more than that.

Unfourtunally, you can't get much service from anybody for 15 bucks a month. For limited dial-up we were paying 20 bucks.

I'd look around for a beter ISP because it seems to me that your not getting a great deal. look for small companys and you should be able to get if nothing else unlimited dialup for 20 a month, we ger unlimited DSL + unlimited DialUp access for 40 dolors a month

I was quoting the price that we had about 9 months ago. Now we pay about 50 a month for DSL and unlimited dial-up.
