Exclamation visor reset botton broken-What To Do?

hi, a week or so ago i was in a predictment were my visor froze and i couldnt find a pin small enough to fit inside the reset hole. but then i found a round toothpick, but only the end tips would fit. so i decided to break the tips off and push one in on top of the other.... IT WORKED and the visor went through a soft reset. the only thing now is that the first of the two tips in the hole wont come out. i decided that when i could i'd get a super thin pin and dig it out. i tried it as soon as i could but it just put the toothpick deeper inside. then i got mad and just pushed it in as hard as i could untill i heard a SNAP!!. i just realized what i did, i broke the reset button so that the toothpick and the reset botton was now floating around in my visor. luckily the visor was still operational. if i ever need to do a soft reset now i need to find a LONG pin and try push against the thing beneth where the reset button used to be.

so my question is should i open my visor and try to remove the toothpick and fix the reset botton?, if i did could i risk losing my data if so why. or if i left it in would it ever do anything?

PS: i have never opened my visor because the stylus that comes with a visor is just piece of plastic without a reset pin.

The piece of plastic stylus does have a reset pin. It's under the tip.

Also, if your visor happens to work, and you need to soft reset it for whatever reason, download ATool, it has an option to reboot the visor.

Umm, not *all* of the stylus have that....

The original stylus that came with the Visor (non-deluxe) is a single piece of plastic, very boring. Looks horrible. With the deluxe, they went to the 3 piece configuration.

Cheers!

The orginal Visor Deluxes (way back in 1999) had the plastic stylus, but Handspring replaced it with the metal one because of all the complaints that they were getting because of scratched screens.

There is also a program called "PaperClip" which does a soft-reset without using a pin.

You should be able to get it from palmgear.
