Question

My wife has had a VDx for a number of months and I just received a Visor Platinum from my employer. Since the Platinum supports the new Palm OS, what do I choose as my install option - VDx or Platinum/Prism? I am leaning toward choosing Prism, thinking some backward compatibility might exist - like MS Word 2000 and Word 97 for example (I didn't say a strong example).

As further confusion for me (a Visor/Palm newbie) the install screen for both options suggests that Palm OS "3.1" is being installed. Shouldn't there be a difference between the two?

Thanks for any help on this one!

One install is enough.

My wife got a Visor 2meg for Christmas, and we installed the Palm Sync software off the included CD.

I just reciever my Platinum today. I didn't bother installing it's CD, since it looked the same as the one that came with my wife's.

I set my platinum in the cradle, and pushed the Sync button.
It prompted me for a user. I enter NEW, then typed in my name.

Everything works. It uploaded all I'd added into my platinum onto my OWN set of applications. Clearly the software was designed with the assumption that there might be more than one Visor in the house. Your BIOS version is not changeable, so don't worry about a delux install screwing up your platinum. It won't.

I'll install the Platinum's CD at work tomorrow, and report back if I notice any differences.
