InnoGear Speedloader Downloads

Can anyone help me?

I'm looking for the Speedloader MMC Reader software that InnoGear had on their Tech Support web page. Does anyone out there have it, or know where I can find it? InnoGear's website is apparently no more, and my e-mails bounce back as undeliverable.

Any information (or the software's current hiding place) would be appreciated.

While this wont let you use the speedloader with the minijam, at least you can use it as a USB mmc card reader/writer..

you still need the proprietary software from innogear to format the card in their MJFS file system and not the standard FAT that everyone else in the world uses..

I use it and it works! *at least to format the cards for uses other than with the minijam.

That proprietary Speedloader software is what I'm looking for, or I'll have to take the ZiO! back. I don't have any other uses for a MMC reader except as an accessory for the MiniJam.

As for buying something else that uses MMCs, my wife is wise to that trick already - I used it (buying CDs when we had no way to play them) to get a CD player some years back.

"But, Honey, they didn't put it out on cassette! Pleeeze??"

Wow! Is Innogear gone? I bought a Trio from them just a month or 2 ago...can't find any info about them going under either.

Anybody know what's going on?

It certainly seems that way. When I've tried to get to the front page, I get a "403 - Forbidden" error, and all the pages behind it are "404 - Page not Found." The site was intact as little as three weeks ago. So, I guess those of us who bought any InnoGear stuff are on our own.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, considering the Trio auction. Maybe branching off into MP3 players wasn't such a hot strategy after all. If you can pick one up at WallyWorld, why go on the Web?

BTW, dorelse, how's the Trio working out for you? Do you have anything with which to compare it in terms of transfer speed, sound quality, etc?

And, I'm still looking for that Speedloader SW; if anyone should happen to find it before the 15th, please let me know; that's my drop-dead for taking the ZiO! back for a refund (minus a restocking fee, of course )

Actually, the Trio is very very nice. I've used the MiniJam & SoundsGood. The Soundsgood was much faster for downloading music, but I was never impressed with the 64MB of on board memory. Yes, that's what the Trio has as well...but I couldn't resist owning such a 'rare' module.

I like the original MiniJam for its expandability with the MMC cards, and the AC adapter plug in. Both have excellent sound output. I also liked having all the buttons on the MiniJam's top. It was nice to keep the screen off when playing music in my truck.

All in all its a great module. If it wasn't for its uniqueness, I'd prefer the MiniJam. More flexibility in playing music, despite its painfully slow download times.

Ooooooppppssss! I didn't know.

I want to apologize to (and thank) everyone who responded to my thread privately, but I've taken the Zio back to where I bought it. I didn't know about the PM service in this forum before this (Thanks Gambit), or I would have gratefully responded sooner.

BTW. This morning I tried www.innogear.com again and it took me to IronCreek software. Their code development page says this:

"IronCreek Software developed applications such as PalmAMP and the drivers and applications powering the InnoGear InnoPak/2V."

It also explains that they can not offer PalmAMP due to legal reasons, but that a similar product with USB support may come out in the future. Bummer.

Innogear/Speedloader

Has anyone been able to find the Speedloader program?

What is up with Innogear? And who is doing their support? Nice company... cashes out on selling their product & bails on helping their customers! I've noticed that their products are still selling... do we have to be part of their secret society to get support or what??? shesh! Are they getting sued or what? If so, let me in on it because I got robbed on these minijam & speedloader devices.

I've been searching the net and can't find a clue on what is going on. Any help is appreciated.

Coming from innogear this is absolutely no surprise, while I do feel for you I am not surprised at all.. do a forum search on innogear and read all the gory details..
Its a long sad tale of lies, deceit and deception.. almost since day one.. I personally purchased a minijam on the premise that the mmc cards could be used for storage of palm program and databases in addition to music files (like the memplug eventually was).. and I was lied to, they never added that feature though they said they would.. how about the skin editor.. did that ever see the light of day?? to add insult to injury the used a proprietary format on the mmc cards so you couldn't even use an off the shelf mmc card reader/writer.. sheesh.. the whole thing makes me sick thinking about it.. consider yourself lucky at least you weren't stupid like a lot of us and paid full price for it.. If you want more fun, do a search on the infamous six pack (which never surfaced either).. we are talking hours of reading on innogear.. have fun..

Thanks for your reply. Oh, I figured so much. It's not very professional how they just ignore everyone by putting up that ****ty web development site... yeah right... I suppose that is legit too. Has anyone ever proposed a class action law suit against them? As consumers, we at least deserve a recall or refund for a mass produced product that doesn't work.... it's just a lie & a scam. Something has to be illegal about it.

That web development site that you refer to is not Innogear. They are just the folks that were contracted to write some software for Innogear. They are actually doing you a favor by giving you at least some place to go when Innogear closed shop.

If you want to vent on someone, blow off steam in Handspring's direction. An entire market was developed around the springboard module. Whole companies like Innogear formed to supply modules for the Visor. It turned out that the springboard was only developed so that Jeff could make his VisorPhone and use it as a stepping stone toward the Treo. He, IMHO, was the one who duped thousands of people into buying into the SB and then dumped them all for his beloved Treo. When HS announced that they were pulling out of the organizer business (thanks Donna), the construction of coffins for companies like Innogear began. It is no wonder that they could not fulfill on their hopeful promises when the future of their company was killed by HS's "business decisions". Imagine what would happen to companies like Dell and hundreds of other PC supporting companies if Microsoft decided to dump Windows and go into making accordians.

Oh well. All I know is that I have an expensive piece of crap that doesn't work. No one is listening in any direction, so it really doesn't matter who I vent to, and it's really no big thing, just frustrating. It's strange that that innogear's redirected website doesn't post that they have limited affiliation with these products... gotta makes ya wonder.

I have the speedloader program and am very happy with it. Upload speeds in excess of 350kb/sec - it rules!

Hey Gambit,
Do you know where I can buy the Speedloader program? I know it works & my whole fit of capping on Innogear started with trying to find a copy of it, or at least an upgrade (or patch) for Minijam Loader. I have a USB MMC reader... do you think Speedloader will work with that?
