I have found some great links for cases and accessories in this discussion group that I had not seen anywhere else- Fossil, Ripoff, etc.

What other sites do people have for cases and accessories, AND what other things have you found that work as cases or accessories?

Example: The Boy Scouts make a small padded nylon pouch for compasses that misses being a decent minimalist Visor pouch by a fraction of a inch in width. However- the design is so simple that anyone with a sewing machine should be able to turn one out in a few minutes.

Also: Duluth Trading (www.duluthtrading.com) is the place for incredibly tough cases and such for builders. They offer a padded tan and green PDA pouch with a clip similar ot the Ripoff for $12.99. Their closeout section offers an incredible tough leather calculator pouch for about the same price. The look is sort of 'contractor chic'.

My daughter noticed that the Stowaway fits neatly in her CD case if you take out the plastic CD sleeves. In hers, this leaves you two nice, deep pockets for stuff, and room for other stuff beside or around the keyboard.

Other ideas?

I'm still using a black neoprene cell phone belt case that I originally bought for my PCS phone. I got it several years ago at Brookstone for around ten dollars. It's fairly innocuous (I've never had anyone point at it and say "Hey, you have a handheld!"). It also seems to protect against droppage (that's the French word for Visor tossing). I've had several instances of "I hope this thing still works after that!" with this case and so far so good!

Mais Non, Non, Non ... c'est Francais for "OhhhhhhPoooooop" - and just to further learn (sic) you ....

"HASTE CUISINE" is French for "Fast French food"
"MONAGE A TROIS" ----> "I am three years old"
"VISA LA FRANCE" ----> "Don't leave your chateau without it"

knowing the latter is very important when shopping for an Edge .... trying to bring my reply back on topic more or less

Now that the French lesson is done ;-),

I just finished a 'remodel' of a cheapo "Sumdex" 'leather wallet case' I got from Amazon when i ordered the Visor. It is a basic cheap leatherish case with the dreaded Velcro fastener.

I took two pieces of suspender elastic (wide and thick!) and sewed them in to hold the plastic snap cover in place.

In hindsight, I should not have used such thick elastic because it puts a bit of pressure btween the unit and the cover, but it snaps on readily and holds pretty darn tight!

[I am on a project at work to recommend and evaluate PDAs for people with brain injuries and other disabilities, so I am especially interested in cheap solutions, alternatives, and odd things here!]
