Cool

WOW! That's one sexy case. Nobody is going to think you have a GameBoy when you whip that honey out.

Is there any retaining straps across the top of the Visor, or is the top of the case just open where you insert the Visor?

I did read a horror story about some poor fellow who bough a Titanium case for his Visor, only to have it fly out of the open top of the case when he tripped.

Winchell...it is open, however the flap that covers the Visor is secured with a snap. The fit within the case seems to be quite snug so I don't think that will be a factor.

Question

I just ordered my brown ostrich Vaja case. Directcase.com hasn't answered my email about the "short backorder" they list for the cases. Anyone have any experience with them and how much time the "short backorder" added to the wait?

Question

I have had my Vaja case for about 3 weeks now. I was curious if other people who have this case put credit cards in the 3 slots in the cover. When I did, one of them apparently rubbed on the screen and left a permanent dark spot on my screen. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

My Vaja has been on back order about 3 or 4 weeks. I also had sent a couple of emails and got no reply. However, when I called on a couple of occasions, I at least got good answers (don't like the answer, but they gave a thorough answer...). Basically, they are waiting on a shipment from Vaja, and said they can't ship what they don't receive.

I did receive the following email this week:

Date: Mon, 14 Aug 2000 15:35:38 CDT
From: "DirectCase.com"
To: "DirectCase.com (E-mail)"
Subject: Vaja Visor Case Update

Dear DirectCase.com Customer,

Thank you very much for your order. As you know, we have been eagerly
awaiting our shipment of Handspring Visor cases by Vaja. As many of you
have been waiting patiently on this case, we wanted to let you know the status of your order.

Vaja has informed us that they will be shipping our Visor cases to us on
Monday, August 21, meaning we should have them available for shipment to you
in the latter part of that same week. While we had planned to have these cases available much sooner, we can only ship out what is provided to us by Vaja.

We appreciate your business very much and sincerely apologize for the extended delay. Please be assured that we want nothing more than to get your case to you as soon as possible. To thank you for your patience during this backorder situation, we are providing you with a free shipping upgrade.
If you selected the Free Standard service, your package will be shipped 2-day air at no additional cost. If you selected 2-day air service, your package will be sent via Overnight priority at no additional cost.

We again wish to thank you for your order and for your patience and
understanding during this backorder situation. If you have any questions or
concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,

Mike Team

Reply from Directcase

Direct case has responded to a couple of my emails. Pretty much the same information as the post above. They expected the cases this week, but they still haven't shown up. The last email I received was yesterday (August 24).

I'm wondering if I want to wait for the Vaja or order one of the E&B Slipper cases. Same style, but not nearly as nice looking (then again, I've not seen either one in "real life", only pix on the web), but it does allow you to synch in the case.

A while ago, I had the same problem with my E&B Slipper w/ belt clip. There is only one card slot, but I had 4 cards in it, plus some money in the section behind the cards. After a few days, I noticed a tiny, kind of "rubbed-in", spot on my screen protector. I though I just accidently scratched it myself, so I didn't think anything about it. It quickly got worse - to the point it started to bother me. (It was several days before I made the connection to the cards. ) I took one of the cards out, lowered the number of bills, and the spot stopped growing. I replaced the screen protector, and haven't had a problem since then. (I really hope you have screen protector on your Visor...)

Thumbs up

Narnia, THANKS! Whew! Immediately after reading your post I changed screen protectors, and the dark spot I thought was permanent came off with it. My visor screen is as good as new!

Question Vaja vs. Rhodiana vs. Slipper

I'm pretty clumsy, between the Vaja, Rhodiana, and Slipper, which would best protect my Visor if I dropped it with the cover open?

Also, does anybody know if the Vaja is available without the belt clip?

Question Card charged - case shipped?

For those of you who have received your Vaja cases, did they ship the case when your credit card was charged? My card was charged today, so I'm wondering if my Black alligator case is winging its way to me as I type!

Thumbs up

I just received my Vaja Visor Flip Case and I too am extremely impressed with the quality of craftsmanship that went into this product. The case offers more protection than even the slipcase and plastic cover together because it has extra padding and stiffeners and the stitching and seams act as bumpers.

In addition, one characteristic of the Vaja that seems to have gone unnoticed is that the cover, when the snap closure is attached from the backside, functions essentially like the elastic straps on the back of the Rodiana case. The leather, however, isnt going to get old and stretch out like elastic tends to.

Another bonus is that the small leather pouch that my Flip Case arrived in fits the Targus Stowaway portable keyboard perfectly!

Thumbs up Patience has it's rewards

I ordered a case from Vaja & a case from directcases for my dad. No new on the shipment from DC yet but I have had my brown alligator case for about 2 weeks now. I am now the envy of every visor owner I know. Everyone who sees the case raves (even strangers & non pda owners). I keep 3 credit cards in the case, but have not had any problems with scratches on the screeen (I do use write rights for protection). My biggest issue with the case is that there is no cutout for the mic. This could become an issue with voice recorder modules. The finish & quality are as good as the raves you keep hearing. Although the wait for the case was long (about three weeks total partially because of a shipping mixup) it was definately worth the wait. The advanced grafiti chart, and the custom initials are a bit hard to read on the dark brown leather, but so what, the case is the best I have seen (I know users who have the slipper, rhodiana, and handspring black leather cases). If anyone figures out a practical method of adding a mic hole, Please post it!!!

Does anyone know if Vaja or Rhodania plans to make a case to fit with the Minijam? I currently am very happy with my Rhodania case but Its not going to work with the Minijam and it doesn't look like the Vaja would either.( This is assuming I get my Minijam some time this year.) I would really like to get a Vaja case if they make a new model to fit.

The Vaja case definately looks nice and I'm sure it's functional but it's a tad too pricey to order hastily (after exchange to CDN$ and that outrageous shipping price). I noticed at the website that they had 'NEW' synchable versions of the case for some Palm units. I think I'll wait to see if they produce a syncable Visor case before I order one. I have a Rhodiana case on the way. I wanted a Vaja style case as it looks a little more professional for work where the protective and durable Rhodiana will be for 'play'.

Sounds like a plan to me.

Ark.
