A question for all you Nexcell/MAHA users out there. When charging your batteries do the batteries and charger get hot to the touch? My batteries are nearly uncomfortably hot to touch when I take them out when they are finished charging. The back of the charger (MAHA C124S) also is very warm. Is this normal or should I be worried.

I recently switched from a 124S to a 204F after a friend told me that using the slow charger can damage my batteries due to some features it doesn't have, but when I did use it, my batteries were never too hot to touch, nor was the charger.

I returned my first MAHA charger and one of the NEXCell NiMHs, as when I went to take the cell out (admittedly way past 10-20 hours), it had MELTED into the charger!

Recently, my batteries were very low (<10%) when the screen went blank. When it came back (?) I had to do a soft reset. I started to take it downstairs to charge when I noticed that the battery compartment was warm and I smelled hot plastic! When I took the battery out, it was too hot to touch!

I usually leave a set of batteries in the slow charger all the time. I know this ultimately reduces the life of the battery, but I thought it was OK otherwise. Now I'm having second thoughts!
