Question

I have been looking around a several map programs to date. I would like the Public Opinion of what is best for maps of certain areas ie... one to three counties with the most detail and good zoom? Thanks Frank

Frank, I can't help you, but I am also looking for good detailed "tourist" type maps of metro areas. I need Kansas City, St Louis, Chicago, and Atlanta for now. In addtion to just mapping, I would like features such as tourist sites, resturants, landmarks, and reviews if possible. Kind of like Fodors for the Palm.

TrekWare may show some promise:

Hope to see another "I-70" or "Show-me" World Series this year!

I've looked at quo vadis briefly, though too briefly to give an opinion.

At any rate, it's a name for you to look into.

I forgot to mention that the Quo Vadis software is suppose to come with the HandyGPS Springboard module. Which is hopefully going to be available at the end of this month.

Take care,

Jerry

I tried all of them and my preference is still StreetFinder by Rand Mcnally. The quality of map images is superior to all of the others which makes it easier for me to find my way around. It also has the most complete feature set. The one drawback is that the maps are huge compared to other products.

This thread really belongs in the software forum, and you should go there and do a search on 'map' to find other topics.

It may not be enough, but Tealpoint software makes a Tealmeal database for Kansas City. They may make others that you need, but you'll have to check.

By the way, I'll be in Kansas City from May4 to May8. I'll be at the White Sox vs Royals game on Sat, the 6th. I've been a diehard Royals fan since I was a little kid living in NE Kansas City.
